Butterflies and moths

 

All gardeners observe butterflies and moths on the site - usually when they are flitting away from you.  Do they have inbuilt camera detection?  

 

Certain varieties seem to favour different parts of the site.  Commas regular sunbathe on my strawberry and potato patches, speckled woods sit peacefully on the hawthorn hedges, brimstones flit like yellow handkerchieves along sunny avenues... all lovely and all a photographic challenge!
